Rep. Mary Bono Mack discussed government regulations and spending with nearly 40 local developers, growers and business leaders today.
The hour-long roundtable was held at the Heckmann International Center for Entrepreneurial Management at the Palm Desert campus of UC Riverside.
Attendees said the discussion touched on a wide range of topics, from the federal budget to the costs of local permits.
Local reporters were only allowed to attend the last part of the discussion.
The event was part of Bono Mack’s role as chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade.
The Palm Springs Republican congresswoman said the committee would continue hearings on many of the issues raised, including how to increase manufacturing in America.
“We are over regulated, over taxed and over litigated,” Bono Mack told the group.
