PALM SPRINGS POT SHOP BACKS POUGNET, USES WEBSITE TO SOLICIT CONTRIBUTIONS

Palm Desert, CA – Desert Organic Solutions, one of the three medical marijuana dispensaries now located in Palm Springs, has thrown their support behind Steve Pougnet’s campaign for Congress and encourages members and visitors to do the same.  The dispensary’s website, DesertOrganicSolutions.com, claims, “Pougnet is a leader that knows how to get things done,” and “he has the integrity to fight for his progressive values.”  As a sign of support, the website asks for $10 contributions to “elect a progressive fighter.”  In response to Desert Organic Solution’s fundraising efforts, Ryan Mahoney, Campaign Manager for Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45), issued the following statements:

“What we have here is a classic example of political quid pro quo.  Pougnet fights for medical marijuana dispensaries in Palm Springs and they fight to put him in Congress.

“Obviously, Mayor Pougnet will go to any length to raise money for his political ambitions, even if that means saturating the city with unwanted pot shops.

“With this kind of behavior, can voters in California’s 45th really trust Steve Pougnet?”
