POUGNET’S FAILED LEADERSHIP FORCES LAW ENFORCEMENT LAYOFFS

Palm Springs, CA – After City leaders and law enforcement officials handed out pink slips yesterday to twenty-two employees of the Palm Springs Police Department, Ryan Mahoney, Campaign Manager for Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45), issued the following statements:

“Mayor Pougnet should be embarrassed and City residents outraged.  Pougnet’s failed leadership and mismanagement of taxpayer dollars has forced the Palm Springs Police Department to fire twenty-two employees, adding to the high unemployment rate in the City and compromising the safety of our citizens.

“Pougnet’s liberal tax and spend policies are to blame for the fiscal mess in City Hall. It’s clear that Pougnet cannot be trusted to lead this City, and definitely cannot be trusted to represent this District in Washington.”
