BONO MACK STANDS AGAINST OBAMACARE, POUGNET REMAINS IN HIDING

Palm Springs, CA – Today, Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) voted against the Administration’s partisan Healthcare Reform Bill.  The bill, which passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 219 to 212, will sabotage the doctor/patient relationship, increase taxes on individuals and business owners, and inflate the already staggering National debt.

Moments after Congresswoman Bono Mack voted against the bill, her Campaign Manager, Ryan Mahoney, issued the following statement regarding her vote and the continued silence of her liberal opponent, Mayor Steve Pougnet.

“Today in Washington, Congresswoman Bono Mack joined with the American people in rejecting the Administration’s Healthcare Bill.   The current bill costs too much and delivers too little. Bono Mack believes that true healthcare reform enhances the doctor/patient relationship, addresses medical liability, and provides affordable, quality care to Americans.

“While Congresswoman Bono Mack fights against government run healthcare in Washington, our liberal opponent Steve Pougnet remains in hiding, ducking the voters of this District, and refusing to voice his support for this left-wing legislation.

“It’s time for Pougnet to end the political games and confess to the voters of this District that he supports Speaker Pelosi’s liberal agenda and the Administration’s flawed Healthcare Bill.”
