DOES MOVEON.ORG KNOW POUGNET’S POSITION ON “HEALTHCARE REFORM”?

Palm Springs, CA – In hopes of drumming up media attention, the liberal activist group, MoveOn.org, called an “Emergency Rally for Healthcare” today outside of Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack’s District Office in Palm Springs, CA.  Bono Mack’s Campaign Manager, Ryan Mahoney, issued the following statement regarding the protest.

“It’s no surprise that MoveOn.org would once again organize a protest outside of Congresswoman Bono Mack’s District Office.  In the wake of Sen. Brown’s monumental victory in Massachusetts, these liberal activists are trying to resuscitate the healthcare bill and recapture the limelight.

“Congresswoman Bono Mack’s stance on the healthcare bill remains the same.  She is adamantly opposed to the government take-over of healthcare and will fight tirelessly against it in Washington.  The American people want to enhance the relationship with their doctor, not some government bureaucrat.

“Instead of disrupting constituent services at Bono Mack’s District Office, MoveOn.org should take their protest down the street to City Hall.  Our opponent and Mayor of Palm Springs, Steve Pougnet, has ducked the healthcare issue for months.  Maybe today, he’ll take a stand for something.”
